This model is a modern version of the Seiko “Hybrid diver's”, which was presented in 1982 and was the first model with a combination of analog and digital technology. Also known as “Arnie”, after the actor who wore it in the movie “Commando”, but also as “Tuna”, from the case shape, due to its larger diameter and imposing shape, the watch celebrates its 40th anniversary of the first hybrid diving model with an alarm chronograph. The original model has proven its reliability in adverse conditions as it was used in Japan's Antarctic expedition in 1984 and in Japan, China and Nepal's ascent of Mount Everest in 1988. The new H855 movement has been upgraded to offer improved readability in diving, with a larger display at 6 o'clock. It also offers dive logging and depth and temperature measurement functions.
